eBay seller fees
eBay's final value fee for most categories is 13.6% of the total sale — item price, buyer-paid shipping, and sales tax — on the first $7,500, dropping to 2.35% on any portion above that. On top, eBay adds a per-order fee: $0.30 for orders of $10 or less, $0.40 above $10. Category exceptions exist (sneakers, watches, and other categories have their own rates), so check eBay's fee schedule for unusual items.
Poshmark seller fees
Poshmark keeps the simplest structure: a flat $2.95 on anything under $15, and 20% on everything else. Payment processing is included and buyers pay for the prepaid shipping label, so the sticker fee is the whole fee — but at 20% it's also the largest commission of the four platforms for items over about $15.
Mercari seller fees
Mercari now charges sellers a flat 10% of the sale total including buyer-paid shipping — the widely publicized 0%-seller-fee structure from 2024 is gone. There is no separate payment-processing charge anymore; instead, buyers pay a 3.6% purchase-protection fee at checkout. Getting paid out costs $2 per standard direct deposit or $3 for Instant Pay.
Depop seller fees
Depop dropped its 10% selling fee for US sellers in July 2024. What remains is payment processing at 3.3% + $0.45 on the full transaction (item + shipping + tax), which makes Depop the cheapest of the four for most price points. Optional boosted listings add 12%, charged only if the boosted item sells.
